The two most commonly used asphalt shingles are 3 tab shingles, & laminated shingles, also known as “architectural” or “dimensional” shingles
3 Tab shingles which are shingles containing three exposed tabs that are evenly spaced across the width of each shingle. These shingles are less commonly used now due to their wind resistance that they offer due to having 3 separate tabs, as opposed to one solid strip with a continuous seal.
Laminated shingles are most commonly used now due to the 3 dimensional look, & their wind resistance. These shingles have a continuous seal underneath every shingle with no gaps like 3 tab shingles. This allows a better seal, & stronger resistance from wind damage.
We are a Preferred Contractor with Owens Corning, one of the largest roofing manufactures. This allows for extended warranty options which can only be offered by a preferred contractor. Be sure to ask your project manager about these warranty options through Owens Corning.
